I want my MCAT forum

Moderators-

Sorry but you have the USMLE forums, and no MCAT Forums. I'm sure it'd be more efficient for those who are taking the MCAT to use the MCAT board rather than scroll page through page to see if anyone has replied to their MCAT question amongst all the I've been accepted rejected, waitlisted and XYZ school.

I'm sure the APril MCATers would love y'all.

Just my two cents.

Yeah! I took the MCAT about 2 years ago and I hate seeing anything related to the MCATs anymore! Right now, I'm only concerned with acceptances, rejections, and waitlists. Let them have their own forum! :D

I cast my vote :)

I disagree. Even though I have not taken it yet and need info myself, the people who have already taken it and have the knowledge we need, in my opinion, are not going to go into the mcat forum just to answer all of our questions. I think a seperate forum is a good idea, but I don't think our questions would get answered, compared to if they were in the pre-allo forum. Anyway, that's just me.

I think that questions would still be ansewered if there were separate forums. Med students pop up here on pre-allo to answer our questions. I browse many of the other forums besides this one (ie allo, lounge, everyone etc.) and I'm sure others do too. I know if there was a MCAT forum I would occasionally check it and offer advice; I think most of us would.

I thinks thats a great idea.

If Warren wants an "Mcat" forum...then I want my "God that MCAT I just took was REallly Really Really hard" forum!!!
and
my "What to wear at interviews" forum
my "Should I call the schools about my status" forum
my "my" forum
jus joking guys

Nope. I've answered several ?? on the MCAT, but I wouldn't go to a separate forum to check it. When I'm cruising thru this forum to see the news, if I catch an MCAT ? that sounds interesting I answer, but that's bc I happen upon it. I think you'd be missing an informative audience in a different forum.

suggestion: e-mail moderators of make the subject line very clear that a moderator should come in.

Good idea, BTW. <img src="graemlins/pity.gif" border="0" alt="[Pity]" /> <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> <img src="graemlins/pissy.gif" border="0" alt="[Pissy]" /> <img src="graemlins/pity.gif" border="0" alt="[Pity]" /> <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> <img src="graemlins/pity.gif" border="0" alt="[Pity]" />

hmmmm, I foresee soem problems with this already.

1. I am not sure how many of you busy premeds that are currently applying would honestly step into the MCAT forum just to share your advice. Perhaps I am underestimating a lot of you, but with my busy life and time constraints, I don't think I would be wasting more than 5 mins just to scan through the MCAT forums to help my peers out.

2. if it turns out that the MCAT forum is not getting help from our peers that are done with this stage, I can foresee a lot of April/Aug MCATers coming to this forum and posing the same question they did in the MCAT forum. To that, a lot of people **may** reply, but, I also see a lot of people kicking us MCATers out b/c our questions don't belong here. You may say this will not happen, but go back and look at the history of the Allopathy forum. All of them DID kick us premeds out, b/c we were posting our questions in a wrong forum.

I had originally wanted to make the "April MCATers Club" (which I did) for the same reasons. I saw a lot of premeds making each individual "new topic" out of their MCAT questions, when really all they had to do was find the "April MCATers Club" and post it there. What is the problem? High ego??? I see so many questions being asked about the MCAT that could have been asked in the other thread. I personally don't understand why people are being so bent on posing their MCAT questions/concerns as separate topics, can't you guys do it in the APRIL MCATers ClUB?? That is why I freakin made the thread to start with. Obviously a lot of us have overburdened our peers with our trivial questions....and now it's not being appreciated.

To all of you that are tired of seeing MCAT questions--I tried making a thread, obviously enough people didn't want to use it. My apologies that that idea didn't work out.

TO ALL MCATers: Please start using the "April MCATers Club" thread to post any questions/concerns you may have about it. If your question could be better answered OUT of the thread, then only post it. I hope you guys have enough good judgement to decide when.

I am going to bump up the APRIL MCATers thread just cuz I don't wanna hear how y'all can't find it in the history.

PS: yeap! now I'm pissed off!

I guarantee you that I wouldn't step into an MCAT forum to leave advice! That exam was traumatic as hell. I can understand why the other med school applicants don't wanna read about it anymore. That just leaves one question....who's going to give advice to the people that will be taking the MCAT if they make a whole new forum for it? Would anyone out there actually go visit that forum? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Tweetie: :D

Firstly, thanks for your input. :D There are some of us who would come and look at an MCAT forum. Perhaps not all of the people in pre-Allo, but there are some.

I don't think it's the fact that there are a lot of MCAT posts on this board that bothers some of us. We can handle that. I think it's the people that ask the same question over and over and over again that are the most annoying. People that have unique new questions are great - I'm more than happy to answer those. And I usually do. But over the months, I've posted about 50 responses to the TPR/Kaplan debate!

So, if people could just do a 'search' function, and make sure that there question hasn't already been dealt with, that would be sooo much better.

I still think that there should be two separate forums, because they are do very different areas. Applying and interviews and AMCAS questions are very different than MCAT questions. But we may have to agree to disagree. :D

hiya brandonite,
Firstly, I am glad that all my yelling last night helped. lol...i felt like a mom yelling at her kids to behave! a lot of us are being good now--we actually have only two mcat threads that we are using, hopefully that trend shall remain.

Thanks for your input. And i know there are a few out there who would be kind enough to help us, just don't know how many of you guys there are out there. So, I voiced (shall i say "wrote?") my concerns. Anyway, it's all looking good now.
