I am a current 3rd year veterinary student and I just took the first ICVA exam. I did not study for this exam or prepare at all. I felt glad that I recognized majority of the topics and that it was not all foreign. I received a score of 225-317 and felt okay with this due to no preperation. However, classmates have received much greater ranges and I am starting to doubt myself... I can come back from this right? I can pass the NAVLE that I am set to take in 6 months regardless of this score?

The imposter syndrome is so real right now. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I took two different ICVA practice exams. One was like a week or so before my NAVLE. First one I took in October and I wasn’t predicted to pass. Second one a passing score was at the very high end of my predicted range and I ended up passing with a decent margin. You have 6 whole months to study. You can definitely pass still. And if you don’t, you can retake it. You got this.

Sounds like this is your baseline - start studying when it feels right and retake the test to show yourself how far you've come. A lot can change in 6 months. Personally I didn't start studying until ~3 months prior to my NAVLE; I also never took a practice test so don't know if that would have changed things for me. I probably would have scored poorly on it, lol.

the practice tests are definitely helpful but you could start VetPrep now if you wanted to. Go over the ICVA species and diagnoses list and know those!!!!
