I definitely want to utilize my summer time during college to satisfy requirements or just to ease my load during the fall and spring semesters. What are some classes that would be good to take?

Should I take a science and help me get back on the track for my med reqs?

Or should I take humanities and breathe requirements?

Any pitfalls I should avoid? Thanks again

Introduction to Plumbing, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning...med schools love that stuff

the hvac jokes just keep getting funnier dont they

Either a humanities course or a social science.

I don't think it's a BAD idea to take sciences in the summer. I have taken some science courses the last 2 summers and have done well. Since the courses are on a condensed time frame, you have a better recall of the information come time for the tests. The material on the tests are from maybe the last week or two, vs a month. Just depends on the kind of summer you want to have...if you take science classes, you'll probably give up alot of playtime! But if you want a fun summer AND knock some classes out of the way, then take some electives/humanities, etc.

yeah, i dont think its a big deal either. just do well in whatever class you take.

If you take a pre-med science, just be prepared to give up 4-5 weeks of your social life. I'm not exagerating nor discouraging you. I'm taking Chem 102 starting this Monday and have just quit my job and told my girlfriend to be ready to see a lot less of me. It's a give and take... you give 4 - 5 weeks of your summer and get a big 16 week course out of the way. Just weight out if it's worth it to you. If it's not, then take a humanities class, those don't require more than an hour studying a day.

Either way, good luck!

depends on when you want to take the mcat. if taking science classes gives you a leg up and allows you to take the mcat earlier, then grit your teeth and take the science and take the mcat. (i'm assuming this is for next yr.) but otherwise you could avoid the zero-social-life-and-free-time summer grinding out hard science courses and take some blow-off requirements. i'm currently in 2 labs and i thought it would be a breeze, but all my time is being consumed in class...work...and sdn 😀 .

Im takin biochem, physics II, micro lab, and immunology this summer. Say away from those
