I stayed up all night, forcing my dear husband to stay up all night, and called everyone I could think of who wouldn't kill me for waking them up (including friends overseas) and started making lists of what I needed and such then went to a community meeting (environmental group) the next morning at 8am as scheduled and was asked if I was drunk because I was so wide eyed and giddy (I am normally a bit bouncy and upbeat, but this was over the top) and couldn't keep my words straight, I then proceded to do dinners with various friends, stayed up the entire next night, went to work at a vet clinic with cup cakes decorated to look like wolves (we are the wolfpack), and finally crashed that evening.
We had a nice bottle of champaigne and a great dinner at Melting Pot with my folks after the white coat ceremony since it was the first time I saw them in a year and since the acceptance.
We had lots of little parties and lots of email rounds because our friends are so spread out. We also took a vacation the summer before for SCUBA in the Dutch Antilles to celebrate and have some together time before living apart for 4 years. But....the lack of sleep for a couple days was the part I remember most and how grateful I was that I didn't have to worry about school, tests, etc like some of my fellow admitted students.
I hope you all have a blast celebrating your acceptances!
