I keep doing the math, but the only way to get my sGPA above a 3.0 by the time I apply next summer would be to take three extra science classes that will take time away from studying for my hard science classes.
Assuming best case scenario:
BCP ~ 3.46
sGPA ~ 2.95 (Lots of engineering credits & weak grades, it takes about three credits to inch this up by .02 points)
How critical is that 3.0 sGPA? Critical enough to cram three extra science classes into the next three semesters? (Mind you, IF I do have to take the classes for the GPA alone, they will be the easiest "other science" classes I can find... But I don't want to do that if I don't have to.) Is 3.0 truly the magical cutoff point that some on SDN make it out to be?
