I transferred to a larger school after my sophomore year, (more oppurtunities, better school) I am now in my junior year. This school told me how much aid I would get and what do you know they wont give it to me. I've applied to another school for january admissions. If I transfer next semester, will this look really bad?? If I complete the year then leave will that look better?
Thanks a lot of any help

I transferred after my freshman year from a top 20 to another top 20...trust me I get asked about it at EVERY interview, and I guarantee you that you will get asked about it even if you just do the first transfer...As long as you have legitimate intelligent reasons to transfer, whether financial are personal, be sure to articulate them in the interview...

I doubt it will affect your chances of getting an interview as long as you have the grades...it will WITHOUT A DOUBT come up in interview so have answers prepared

Some people move around alot....I don't think transferring to other schools is an issue.

I've had quite a few interviews (like 15 including the schools that had two interviewers) and I've never been asked about my transfer. In fact, none of them have even asked why it took me six years instead of four to get my bachelor's.

I'm really not sure how they overlook those things. Maybe I should address them myself since I keep getting waitlisted even at my awesome interviews!

👍+1 I too transferred between schools in undergrad and at all 5 of my interviews I was asked to explain my reasoning for transfers. I have since been admitted to all except 1 (still waiting to hear) so I agree with the other posters that if you have a reasonable explanation then it shouldn't affect your admissions.

nope. medical schools generally don't accept students with double transfers.. I know many adcoms and it often explicitly says in a school's code of conduct that double transfer students are incapable of providing care.🙄 dir

hahaha I was actually believing you at first. So do you guys think it looks better for me to transfer in january or finish up the year and transfer for next year?

I have been to a total of 6 schools (3 universities, 3 community colleges). I did not get any allopathic interviews, only osteopathic ones--was this one of the reasons? Maybe. I don't know. I would avoid transferring if you can help it. I was asked about my transfers at my DO interviews, and was able to explain it--there was no way I could have helped transferring as many times as I did, and all the osteopthic schools were very understanding of that. However, DO schools are known for being understanding. Allopathic schools... not so much.
