Why are we still studying, working our tails off and wasting our time if the World is going to end in 2012? Most of us will not even get to chance to interact with an actual patient by that time...

screw it, my medical school ambitions are on a hold till 2012....

I hope so, or all this debt I've accumulated on hookers is going to ruin me.

Why do you think most schools are moving towards early patient contact? It's because the world is ending.

the world as we know it will end, but who knows, maybe a new world will arise which will be ruled by doctors. then you'd look stupid for missing out

That will never happen. Jesus will obviously come down when the World is going to end. Who needs doctors when you have a man who can resurrect the dead?

I would be soooo pissed off. Not even being able to do clinicals and mainly never reaping the fruit of our labor.

You can hold for the future, but there may not be one.

he's just the head healer, duh! as men of healing, we'll be his only disciples

this thread inspired me to drop out of college

I think that way even without the "2012" situation.

What if you went all the way through school and residency spending nearly all of your days either studying or working in a hospital, only to die in a car wreck right after residency? Ahhhh, that would BLOW. What a wasted life.

then i better be at duke because i would at least get to do my rotations....

That's why I tell God to either kill me before I start med school or wait until waaaaay after.

Totally agreed. Man that would suck to burn up 10 years of your life, working like crazy, just to to die at the end of it. How depressing lol.

The ED residency program at the hospital I work at had a situation last year where they admitted an engaged couple. Both were going to do their EM residency there. However, a week before they were suppose to start, the girl died in a car accident...

How sad is that?🙁

That's terrible, thanks for the pick me up lol.

No, the world will not end in the 2012. Remember Y2K freak-out. It's all hype,

I could also get hit by a bus crossing the street tomorrow. A lot of things could happen, but I'm going to plan that they won't and live like they will.

Ha, you're gonna be miserable.

Why? All I meant is that I am going to live like something bad could happen. By that I mean I am going to experience all I can because I could be gone tomorrow. I did not mean that I live in fear, far from it.

When I read this thread, I Ji**ed in my pants 😉

I figure that, having made a calendar hundreds of years in advance, the Mayans were probably like, "Jesus, this is hard. Let's take a break."

If YOU were making a calendar out of rocks in the blazing heat, wouldn't you eventually decide you'd probably gone far enough ahead that you could retire and no one would berate you for it?

this thread is such a debbie downer

👍

If the world ended, I would survive just to become a doctor of the post-apocalyptic waste world or something. I have too much motivation to let something like the end of the world slow me down. 🙄

Don't be fooled, the Y2K hype and subsequent failure to come to anything significant was all a part of the government's plot to make the global populace THINK that nothing is going to happen in 2012!!! They are taking advantage of our skepticism to achieve world desecration.

Bro, the world will not end. The Jonas Brothers have been to the year 3000 and they say everything is all good. Don't worry.

👍 Nice tinfoil hat! I can't tell if those are antennas or viking horns.

the world isn't going to end in 2012. I don't know why people think that. does anyone even know anything about the Mayan culture? In a nut shell, they believed that life has 13 cycles. They believed that the 5th cycle will begin in 2012...which has absolutely nothing to do with death or the end of the world.

you guys can be at piece now knowing you will still have to suffer the inevitability of life...

Really? Did you really just live today like you're gonna die tomorrow? Is posting on SDN on your bucket list?

Does that mean I can finally level up enough to cast Mass Resurrection?

Apocalypse suddenly sounds quite appealing.

Just because I live with death in mind, and with the thought I could die tomorrow, does not mean that I do not do normal, everyday things, such as posting on SDN.

they were probably tired and stopped at 2012 and was like welp guess the world ends here

I wonder If the Adcoms from John Hopkins would look favorably upon mass resurrections?

If the world was ending tomorrow I'd go to an aston martin dealership with my bro, grab two DB9 S's and race across the nation. With sex somewhere in between.

...cmon world END
