I would say it depends on the school, if you introduce yourself/make enough of an impression for them to remember your name and how many applications they go through.
I'd say that I was at least recognized facially by the PT Coordinator at the school that I first attended the open house and then came back for the interview, but not by name. (They only were interviewing 60 people that day)
