If you could get into any 3 DO schools.....

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Rowan Som, PCOM and OU-HCOM

Rowan Som and PCOM because they'd be close to home and there are plenty of graduate schools for my gf in the surrounding area in addition to things to do.

Ou-HCOM because it seems like an awesome school and I like the idea of an undergraduate institution attached to a medical school

case in point: yea, it would be pretty odd if 90% of a school's classes are consistently matching into primary care...but there is no such case of this existing.

however, it is very realistic for 50-60% of the class to match into primary care simply because they want to match into primary care.

I can't remember which schools, but I know a few DO schools require 10-12 weeks of mandatory FM rotations for each of 3rd and 4th year, so as to give you less time for rotations in other specialties. Something to think about...

Most of them are like that, which doesn't make sense to me. If you're going to be a pcp, you'd be better off doing abunch of IM sub specialty rotations than doing a bunch of family medicine rotations, unless you want to punt everything to a specialist.
