Hey,

1.) I was wondering if you got, say, a 90 on the NBDE after your 2nd year and you felt like that wasn't good for an ortho spot. Time permitted, do some candidates retake the exam to be more competitive for residency match?

2.) Also, instead of being top 5-10% that people suggest, in order to land a tough residency, do higher NBDE scores (95+) overshadow say a class rank of perhaps only in the top 30% ?

thanks

I am no expert, but ortho residents i have spoken with have told me that they had other residents in their program who were top 40 or 50 in their class...class rank may not be quite as important as people think.

Personal connections will take you far (certainly from what I have seen at my school).
