If you submit AMCAS with modest MCAT score, but retaking in Aug, will med schls delay looking at app until Sept score release?

Same for DO schools?

On the app, it asks if a later MCAT score will be coming. If someone wasn’t yet sure if they were going to retake, so they didn’t indicate a retake score would be coming, and then submitted their app…..but then decided to sign up for a MCAT test in Aug or Sept, would the med schools be notified in some way and still delay reviewing the app until that later score came in?

I wouldn't even count on schools delaying the review of your application even if you indicate a retake score is coming. They may, they may review your application with the current score, or anywhere in between.

An MD school has the option of making a decision on an interview without regard to your intent to re-take the MCAT.

You'll get screened on the basis of you first MCAT score. Med schools are under no obligation to wait for a new score.
