Yeah, I already submitted, it's not like I can change my ps now. SDNers helped me out on mine, so I wanted to help, too.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to say that. I do in part believe what you mean though.

Just write it and have someone who does this type of stuff for living like English professors preferably who don't know you. So in the process, they can get to know you FROM the statement and tell you what you are lacking or incoherent in the statement.

i think this is one of the best ways to go. after my english prof read my PS, he suggested i rewrite the whole thing. i'm really glad i did. it's a good way to test the waters and see how a prof would respond to your PS.

I wrote it, had two of my professors make suggestions, rewrote it, sent it to my school's writing center, made adjustments, had my english major friend read it, made more suggestions, got a few ppl already accepted to dental school read/correct and then i sent it in. I think i'm in the clear. If someone really needs to steal someone else's personal statement i think they have bigger things they need to be worrying about. Why would someone need to steal someone else's words for why THEy want to be a dentist? My personal statement could not even apply to anyone but myself.

It's just ridiculous.
