.....both literally and metaphorically 😉, but it's the literal that i'm worried about. I've heard different things for fever reduction, which is more recommended tylenol or motrin?

Yes, alternated every two hours if the fever is really high. Just tylenol if it is a garden variety fever.

Wait! So I should take tylenol unless it's really severe then motrin?

Wow bags, you're on this thing a lot😉 me too

Yeah, my wife sez I should get a life.

That alternating routine is what you see ordered and recommended these days. It started on the pedi units. I have heard that ibuprofen is hard on the kidneys (this coming from a nephrologist), so for that reason apap would be preferred.

Yeah, but doesn't the same argument apply for acetominophen and the liver?

As long as you do not exceed four grams of apap/24 hours there is no problem that I am aware of.

But I agree with you. It sounds a little strange considering I see ER physicians abuse the heck out of ibuprofen dosing guidelines all the time (800mg q6h)

The exact quote from the nephrologist was "I love Ibuprofen, it is good for business." No mention was made of dosing guidelines or therapeutic windows
