that makes no sense. isnt the BA/MD directly from high school, or do they have one of those were you get accepted in the middle of college? did you do you BA @ TCNJ or rutgers?

frankly, i find it hard to believe that there are people geting less 30s on the mcats. its not that ****ing difficult, especially if you have a good gpa...just makes no sense to me.

anyways enjoy umdnj, i think thats were i'll be doing my postbac next year.

WTF I'm a Rutgers student and havent heard of this? I know Robert Wood has something that you can apply to as a 2nd year in college. How did you go about this? Maybe I can still apply...... please pm me with the info? Thanks

I go to rutgers too and I am aware of this joint BA/MD program for UMDNJ-NJMS. We actualyl have two BA/MD programs, the one with RWJ and now the one with NJMS. You apply exactly like you do for the RWJ BA/MD program (that is, after your sophomore year) except the NJMS BA/MD program is NOT open to Rutgers college students. Some of my friends who got into this program actually had to transfer to Livingston, Cook, or Douglass college just to be eligible to gain acceptance. Hope this helps.

ya i know..i was initially Rutgers college...then i transfered to UC...they were the only ones that would accept my transfer overnight......i also applied to RWJMS and they acepted 11 people and i was 13th...but who cares now 🙂

Hey congratz, but you should post this in pre allo. Despite the fact that this thread may bring hope to a few low scorers, it probably annoys some people who do not have such opportunities and must take the mcat. (as you can see from some of the responses)

i know...i took the mcat this past saturday too 🙂....i got my acceptance today so i didnt wanna risk anything...so i had to take it just like everyone.....

bah..i have a biochemistry final exam tommorow..i cant study!!!! 😕

My most sincere congratulations. I hope you become a wonderful doctor who does well by his patients and the world-at-large. YEAH!

well thank you..i will try my best!! u guys are gonna get in too 🙂

Yeah, congratulations. Actually, I tried applying for one of these types of programs at mount sinai school of medicine, but I was unfortunately rejected. However, interestingly enough , in high school. I was accepted to a ba/md program at downstate medical center. So i guess this is also a crapshoot. But, yeah you don't have to worry about the mcats.
Good luck man!

Frankly, I find it hard to believe that a Northwestern student can't put together a cogent sentence after forking over $120k for an education.

Get over yourself, punk. And hope your MCAT turns out as well as you'd like.

hahaha...whats up your arse?

dont worry about my english. it aint so bad considering its not my first, second or third language. i managed to get my point across didnt i?

i just have a hard time believing that people with high gpa struggle with this dumb exam. and it is not that difficult of an exam...certainly easier than most exams in those premed classes. anyhow, all this nonsense is for a different thread.

congrats on a job well done!! all the best. maybe i should have taken a similar path.

 Good for you!!!

I bet there are a few people here that just committed suicide out of anger 😉

I'd consider moving this thread as well. It might not be best for nerves.

You could be a bit more sensitive there. Some people have a difficult time reviewing material they saw YEARS ago. Some people have a difficult time studying on top of a 40-hour/ week job. Others have a difficult time performing on the mcat in such a high pressure situation. So just because it is easy for you (though makes me wonder though why you're doing a post-bac) you shouldn't mock those who do have a hard time. Empathy is a trait anyone going into medicine should have.

Isn't that what everyone says about the school that accepts them?

Just kidding. Congratulations, drguy. How does the program work? I guess you still have to finish your B.A.? When does the medical part start?

hey my med school starts Aug 2005 and ya i still have to finish my BA's(Bio and Psych).....the only difference is that no MCAT is required....well i have to take it but the score does not count in any way watsoever. I cant wait

Very well said. I had to try to study for my MCAT last year between full time college, raising a family, and saving lives 40 hours a week on the ambulance. Excuse me for having a hard time with the MCAT. I guess I must be ignorant, because it should have been an easy test and I should have scored above 30 easily. 🙄

One of my friends got booted from a BA/MD program 3 years into it, something haveing to do with grades. He's going to dental school.

Bottom line - you've been given an amazing opportunity. Make the most of it, because if you don't, you'll be a dentist.

Seriously, that's awesome. good luck.

thnx...i will...but like i said..u all of u guys are gonna get in! and i hope some of u come to NJ med...i need company 🙂

with all the focus on me, kinda feel like i am hijacking this dudes thread.

since you really need to know i have a ****ty gpa thats why i am doing a postbac. i also wonder why people that aced midterms and finals for 4years have problem doing well on the mcats. just hard for me to understand.

congrats dude. i have a friend in the program as well but he got in from high school cos tcnj and umdnj have a combined program, thats what i was asking about in my original quessie.
