Hey everyone... I'm frustrated over this silly pH problem and I think my brain is just fried! Can anyone explain this to me?

If the pH is given, say it's 4, how do you calculate the H+ concentration?

I know pH=-log[H] but the negative log thing is confusing me? Guess I never learned it during DAT studying.. ha! THanks!
