I'm only applying to one medical school.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It seems like having a family and not wanting to move are the parts people have latched onto and debated whether OP should be willing to move/commute, but really I think the difference to remember in OP's situation is that they don't need to have a paying job and they would be fine not being a doctor. I think those last two things are the key difference in why they should only apply to this one school. They can volunteer, do social work, or go to nursing school if the MD doesn't work out. Most people aren't fine with years of non-paid work or not getting their medical degree - that in my eyes is the difference.

OP - will be sending you positive thoughts for that A!

Nothing wrong with prioritizing family!

Also entirely possible to get passed up for folks with more flexibility, though.
