Its def still early! We have this week and next week and then all of November. I only have 6 right now. Im gonna send LOIs this weekend and I think i can net another 3 or so with that. then all I need after that is like 3 more or something and a few of my programs havent even sent out their first waves yet (Georgetown Tulane and GW). I want at least 12 before I start declining

I honestly think so. Im going to send 2 to places I think im overqualified for (carilion, USC prisma) and several places I havent heard from yet that I think im def qualified for that I would be happy at. If I do that i think I will get several interviews. I only have 6 total interviews rn and im not sure if I should be worried or not

You sent one to carilion? or ur saying just in general you sent one. Ive heard of responses as soon as same day all the way to 3 weeks later. On the reddit thread from last year many were positive responses with invites post LOI

It could definitely work at reach! I know a DO who interviewed and matched BCM houston IM after LOI and someone I know who graduated from my school got a Yale categorical invite after an LOI two years ago

How much movement is there usually at low/mid low tier programs?
Hard to tell with the virtual IVs. That being said, as the bigger programs release you'll see imo a decent amount t of movement.
Part of me wishes IM did what like gen surg and ent do with a unified release date. Then dropping wouldn't really be a thing, but c est la vie
For one my low/mid-low program...there was only two dates available in Feb...but then some spots opened up so I was able to schedule in December...so definitely seems like some movement happens
Yeah thats true esp for a low tier program... it just makes me feel better when the IV is actually scheduled vs waitlisted
Decent amount because theyre the top tier USMD applicant’s safeties specifically the mid tiers

Place where I am doing my subI a Carib IMG claimed he got a Georgetown invite like the first week apps went out, I was bit skeptical 🤔 but now I am sure he was Bsing, since Georgetown hasn't sent out any invites to non home people?
He actually probs did bc it was not the real GT it was GT Wash hosp thats why lol ive done some research and it looks like they havent sent out anything yet! Good sign!

Yes it's like 1-2 out of 70+ people extremely rare. They have way more DO's tho and one of thier chiefs is a DO too! So a good sign for you!
I think it'll start getting better once the top tier applicants start dropping some ivs. You will see some movement I think

Yes but they have Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Hospital but both are UPenn with HUP obviously being the “real” UPenn i guess you could say

I just read MUSC sched and call sched is a liviing nightmare. Aside from being decent midtier with decent fellowship match and my favorite city the call sched is no bueno. Not sure how I feel now. Anyways I dont think we can determine our abilities of if well get an interview rn based on if programs only have WL or how many spots they have there are a good number people that will drop in the coming weeks which will open spots up especially at the low and mid tiers like UF and MUSC. top tiers not as much
