Oh ok gotcha. No i didnt but i wanted to send a LOI there. My top 3 florida programs are Mayo Jax UF and USF but after researching UF im not really a big fan. You think USF and Mayo on par with UF as far as name and fellowship match? I know those are the top 3 programs in florida other than CCF. Thoughts @fldoctorgirl ?
 
I haven't gotten an invite at the SubI program I'm currently at now...I know they have started sending invites already and not sure how many they actually sent out...do you guys think I should reach out now or wait till the end of my SubI?....This rotation has not really been going that well for me...I've performed poorly compared to the other SubI students they have... but my scores and CV are within the range of residents they have so I'm hoping if I reach out to the PD then they would still consider me for an invite

Then how do you know your doing worse?


And yeah I think a email to the pd/PC stating that you are there and like the program etc would be a good thing to send ASAP.

I havent been allowed to have my own pts.. they said only very excellent subI can do that..i know the other subI are managing their own pts ..

Yeah ill probably email the PD
 
I mean it's all subjective. There's not even really any difference between any academic program outside the top ones anyways. Who can actually decide which program is better? And based on what metrics? If you wanna do a fellowship pretty much any academic program can get you there if you're motivated. If you want didactics even community programs have those.

Agreed. I think someone did a study that showed that the thing people care about most is location anyway
 
The IM spreadsheet was dead today and its scaring me....i hope it picks up again im only sitting on 7 interviews (most everyone I know are at least 10-15)

Dude, just noticed the same thing. Really hope I hear from more of my academic programs on my list. Crazy thing is NONE of my academic invites are from my home state or med school state right now.

Edit: In fact, I have zero ties to any of the states in which I have academic interviews haha. So random.

Hopefully the next week brings us some love. I am waiting for GT and GW lol
 
Things definitely slow down for me today.. didnt get any interviews

I guess people were right when they said 1st wave of interview is done at most places

Yea I agreed its far from over...but the wait now is gonna be more slow and excruciating..

Anyone have any luck with NYC programs?

Your also targeting upper mid and top tier programs, they seem to do smaller waves. Also it seems like many programs in the north east haven't sent anything out or have sent very few interviews. Same with a few of the Texas programs.

Your overqualified for UConn if your getting interviews from Vandy, Brown, CCF lol... they should get back to you soon haha

I hope so but im also scared of falling on my ROL because the interviews I have being a DO not sure how high theyll rank me. UConn is solid wouldnt mind going there if I fell on my ROL

not sure if u applied but Penn state said invites next week

Yea I get what your saying, but most people(like 90%+) match in their top 4 so the odds are in your favor...
 
Missed this thread somehow!!

My most impressive interview so far is Wash U categorical track. Never expected to actually get an invite there. Location trumps all for me so I will likely rank "worse" programs above them, but just so honored to have this opportunity.
