OK, so I'm doing Uworld and whenever they show an image--usually a slide of some histo, micro, etc--I get my butt kicked. It looks like jibberish to me. Even when they explain the slide, half the time I really can't see or appreciate the finding. Most times I answer the question by just reading the two sentence stem, since the picture looks greek to me.

Anyone else have this problem? And how can I improve it? I have very little time left, so I am looking for a quick solution that would take no more than one day, since that's all I can spare. Thanks.

Dude, don't worry about it. If you can get the question from the stem, you're fine. I wasted a lot of time the night before my exam, freaking out about images, only to find that on the real deal, I had to use the image *MAYBE* once at most to figure out a question. Just focus on answering the qs from the stem and you're golden.

If you really do not believe me, then fine, I'd suggest looking at the images at the back of First Aid. Cover up the captions and see if you can ID the images. Hope that helps.

I had a hard with images on my school's content exams so i bought HY Histology thinking it would help me out.

I wouldn't recommend using it, The pics are all in black and white and really didn't help to clarify much of anything.

Alright. So it seems others have the same problem. Thanks for the input.

just to further elaborate on this thread, does anyone have a good web source that goes over common histopathology seen on step I?

WebPath ... Mother of all sources. "Fun" to go through, and it's quick. Good explanations with every slide. You can even do practice exams with clinical type questions... use it.

It has 1900 images! How many do you think we should do?

Harvard Whole Brain Atlas ... good for Neuroanat images. I liked the "Top 100 Brain Structures" of normal anatomy and the "Tours" they had for some of the lesions. WebPath has radiological images as well, but not like this.. These images are better.
So if I do both of these two links, First Aid, and Uworld (scoring around 70%)...I should be good? I remember someone telling me that before the exam, study images, MRIs and crap like that...so these two links should cover that?

just supporting the "ridicularis" in saying WebPath is great, and thanks for the flashcard site I'm creating an account right now to access them!
