Img disadvantaged in job search?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Probably not? Usually it depends on the rep of the institution and where you did GME. If you did residency at a small community program in the middle of ND, and applied for a job at CC, you'd probably not be priority vs. a guy who did it at a more ''rep'' by name program in a large city.

IMG here. Gonna answer a big NO on this one. Many residency programs are definitely IMG unfriendly but job market... never seen that one.
That's been my impression as well. If you graduate from residency, you'll have no trouble finding a job.

As long as you speak English very well and finish residency I think you’ll be fine. If the patients don’t think they can understand you is the only time I think being an img is a problem

This was the only thing I was gonna say - If you completely and utterly lack any form of cultural relativism and English barriers - You may sink fast. Especially in "Hot areas" like SoCal where people have the money and will therefore quickly move to a provider that "gets" them

I'm an IMG and didn't get asked one single question about where I went to medical school when looking for jobs
