IMG Internal Medicine Applicants - Match 2021

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yesterday I was told at a program I interviewed that given the circumstances that are thinking of going prematch and will let applicants know by Jan. Should I be worried ?
Did they say that during the interview? Do you mind sharing where?

Hopefully the program will send out more IVs before Christmas.

Hi everyone, so I applied to this program for both categorical track and primary care track and my IV day is in a couple of weeks. How do I know which track I would be interviewed for? Should I email and ask, or wait till the IV day? And if they ask me about this, what should be an approriate answer? (I cant just say that I just apply to whatever just to match lol)

Email the coordinator to ask. Or you can mention on the interview day that you applied to both because you felt they would both fit your future plan and want to know what the differences in training are to decide better.

I gotta say, after all the time, effort and (duh) money I’ve sunk into pursuing a US residency, it’s difficult not to feel let down by such a crappy season. I get that being an IMG means it’s obviously an uphill climb, but this is borderline ridiculous 😂
