Hi. I need some help verifying the accuracy of impact factors of journals. I found two websites which have impact factors for various journals from 2008. One is http://www.medsciediting.com/sci/, and the other one is http://www.eigenfactor.org/index.php. Now, I'm trying to determine the impact factor for the journal called "neurology psychiatry and brain research". So, when I search them on these two sites, medsci gives me a 2008 IF of 0.147 (http://www.medsciediting.com/sci/journal.asp?id=7e3c718452), and eigenfactor.org gives me a 2008 IF of 9.92 (http://www.eigenfactor.org/results.php?fulljournalname1=neurology+psychiatry+and+brain+research&rosvcat=%25&year=2008&resultsperpage=100&issnnumber=&ordering=perarticle&grping=%25&nam=names&Submit=Search). Which is correct?

I think what you are looking for is the ISI impact factor, which is the one people generally refer to. The impact factor medsci gives you (0.147) is the ISI impact factor. ISI impact factors are indexed in the 'Journal Citation Reports'. This is the link to their database http://admin-apps.isiknowledge.com/JCR/JCR?RQ=HOME
