Improving sGPA with the new grade policy

It's official now! Grade replacement is over for AACOMAS.

So.. where does it leave us? How do we repair our sGPA now?

I've seen goro's comment on post-bacc or SMP options; but what about people currently at CC or in Lower Division? (Or anyone still in UG for that matter)

If we are at CC or in Lower Division, should we abandon our thoughts on retaking those previous courses (Bio,Chem,Ochem,Phys) and take as much upper division science courses as possible?

Should I retake it just to show that I can get an A or should I move on since it's virtually useless?

My sGPA currently stands above 3.0 but I want to know which option sounds better to improve that niche +0.01.

Retakes are pointless now. You need to show that you can handle new courses the first time around and knock it out of the park. They will see if you retook your courses and compare to someone who aced it the first time around. It doesn't help you.

Then I should take as much UD science courses as possible.. Just ace them and bring it up close to 4.0

Strongly concur with this, and quite frankly I think this elimination of grade replacement is only fair to those students who did well the first time around. The absolutely despicable part is the zero notice policy.....

Only retake a prerequisite if you got D or F. Otherwise, a retake is dangerous because you can end up with a B.

Exactly. If you're going to take a course twice, you should be expected to get nothing short of an A- the second time around. A B would be lethal. Now that it's useless though (unless it's a pre-req) UD science is the way to go.
