...everything would be made out of chocolate, water fountains would spew out fruit punch, Ke$ha would stop singing, and you would be attending: Columbia or UCLA?


They both have high specialization rates and both are pass/fail, so am I basically choosing between two (very different) locations? Or is there some other factors (other than price) that I'm overlooking?

I would go price/weather/neighborhood and go UCLA. But then again, I'm not really into NYC, especially if its not even in a good part.

i don't know the details about UCLA, so i'll just ask what i think to be good questions (in addition to what has already been stated):

- how do you feel about taking classes with med students/medical school?
- what kind of class size you looking for? (88 vs 76)
- Columbia is not a "true" pass/fail as there are honors designations. Is UCLA a true pass/fail (no honors)? is that important to you?
- what are the different clinical requirements and atmospheres? (e.g Columbia has mandatory hospital rounds 4th year and a required extra-mural month in OMFS clinics in 3rd year).
- block scheduling vs regular (semester) scheduling?
