Hello Everyone,

I’m an international dentist and planning to apply for residency programs.
Umm so to be considered for in-state resident tuition fees, should I be physically residing in a state for a year or so or have a house in that state or international students are never considered on those terms?
Does the green card status matters?
Please help, worried about this bit.

Thank you!

You need to have at least a green card to be considered in state.

About gaining in-state status as a green card holder or us citizen, every residency program has a different criteria on whether you can get in-state after residing there. You would have to contact each residency program and find out if you can switch to in-state.

Which residency are you applying to?

Are you guaranteed to get into UCSF? What happens if you move to California to help with residency status, but then get into let’s say Houston?

Big Hoss

He'll just end up at BU like all the other international Prost residents.
