In what regards are the later AAMCs different from the earlier ones?

I keep seeing this expressed throughout the forum and wanted to clarify: is this in terms of difficulty? Differing style of questions? To what extent are the earlier exams representative of one's score, then? I've only taken 3/4/5 and have scored in the 28 to 30 range, but I'm hoping I don't have a drop-off as opposed to an increase with the supposedly differing levels of difficulty (as I've also heard the later exams are more reflective of the actual exam, too).

Thanks

Although it is not confirmed, I have heard other people say later tests are more difficult/more indicative to to the actual exam. My own experiences show no correlation. My highest score was on one of the later ones and also the same as my actual exam.
