This question is about a NON-ideal inclined plane being used to lift a crate to 3 ms of height. The question (Question #83, UNit 4 Physics) asks which of the statements are true, and based on the answer key, the correct answer is : "The non-ideal inclined plane decreases the F required and increases W"
I understand why the Work increases, as a non-ideal inclined plane has frictional forces to be overcome. But by the same token, doesn't the force required also increase? Why is the force decreasing??
