I'm sorry if this is a repeat, but I have a quick question...

I was planning on volunteering at a hospital starting in july, but because of some issue on the hospital end, I cannot begin like I intended. I have been told that I can start soon. I wanted to list this on my application though. Would it be okay if I listed "Volunteer at X Hospital" on my AMCAS and then under the description I write the situation, or should I just delete it? Without giving away too much info, I'll just say that it would be positive for my application if it was included.

Any responses would be helpful, because I'm planning to submit the AMCAS before midnight because I'm tired of looking at it and my personal statement. I took about a month too long in submitting it...

~20 minutes left...is WinterLights correct in his statement? Delete the experience?

I can't comment as to its correctness, but I didn't include any "future" activities in mine either. If anything, you could bring it up in a secondary, interview, or a letter to the school telling them what you're doing if you happen to be deficient in activities. Bottom line, if you've got a decent number of them already, no need to add things you plan to do. Many on these forums have also stressed that it's not necessary to fill in ALL of the activities, if that is your intention. Apparently they stress quality over quantity.

For what it's worth...

Hahaha. My advice is essentially what you will get from everyone else. Do not list something that you have not started. If you want to notify schools that you've started an activity after submitting your AMCAS, you can send them update letters. If it is an activity that is critical to your application, then you may want to go ahead and exaggerate the start date alittle bit (dont tell the ADcoms I told you to do that lol.)

Experience buhleeted!

It was my fault that I didn't start earlier. I'll take my chances with the truth.
