So I loved UVM when I interviewed there, but I don't anticipate getting in. I am also getting extremely discouraged about this whole application cycle so I'm starting to debate various options to increase my chances. One thing I thought of was moving to Vermont next year to obtain Vermont residency so I would have a better chance of getting into that school and could get state tuition. Does anyone think this is a good idea or even a feasible idea? It's kind of risky because there's only one state school in Vermont, but has anyone else had success doing this with this or any other state?

Moving to a state like, say, Texas could make a difference.

Vermont? Not so much...

VT doesn't appear to be the optimal state for this.
