Hello,

I have already graduated from an undergraduate institution. I am currently at 3.18 science GPA and will be at 3.22 by the end of this semester FA16 (taking community college courses)...

With that said... since they do not seem to discriminate between classes, so long as they have BIO, CHEM, or PHYS class names... should I just stack on 20 units per semester of the most basic courses with those titles and ace them all to increase my science GPA? Is that an effective method of showing an upward trend by the next cycle?

If I theoretically take 40 semester units with all A grades between SP17 and FA17... my GPA will go from 3.22 -> 3.43... is this the right way to go about this? Is it ultimately worth it?

Thanks for the input!

They look at the difficulty of the course as well. Upper level courses are recommended.
True but I have already taken a large amount of upper division, difficult courses during my undergraduate time... taking hard courses would reduce the volume of units that I can take and would therefore kill the purpose of what I am trying to do...

And that's why they recommend some to do an SMP. To see if you can handle rigorous classes. I get what you're trying to do, but I'm just saying what I think is best. Good luck.

Also remember dental schools prefer 4 year institutions over CC's. I have talked to adcoms when I was applying and CC classes help but aren't viewed as favorably compared to doing a post-bacc or SMP.

What's your DAT? If you can get a 22+ you'll have a chance.
