Hope break is going well for all.
I was wondering whether BCPM counts Independent Studies.
If it does count Independent Study classes, can they count towards your BCPM GPA? What if you took one of these in the psych dept at your school and were studying neurobiology?

I'm hoping it does, just checking.
Thanks.

Psych != BCPM

Odds are that if the course title isn't Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Math ###, then it's not gonna be BCPM.

nope! only the courses amcas states as bcpm are bcpm

It goes by course content, there isn't one hard and fast rule, and there's no way for them to check. If you put a lotta these psych, etc.. classes into your BCPM adcoms will know what you're doing.

Right, but according to AAMC, Neuroscience is considered in BCPM. So what if your school does not have a Neuroscience program? If the course content is more science than psychology doesn't this make sense?

If the class is mostly neuroscience, then go ahead and put it under BCPM. Just don't put too many, that's my advice.

Yeah, in my school as well. I'm doing independent research (in the Biochem dept) and the course appears as "Biochem 395" on my transcript.

only biological psych and neuoscience is BCPM.

Hey. The research that I do is listed as an upper level bio class as well. However, it is graded pass/fail. How does this factor into the BCPM GPA?

Since Comp Sci usually falls under Math classification, does it count as BCPM?
