It is better to have notraized copies of the original degree (if the convocation is over and if you have received your original degree). If the convocation is not over....you dont have a choice but to use your provisional degree certificates. When i first applied to a grad program in US, i did not have my original degree...i applied with a provisional degree. Right before registering for courses in the Fall semester, i was asked to submit the original degree certificate. This policy may vary by University...so check with them.

For admission to dds in usa you need your degree certificate , without that you cant apply any where ,thats for sure...

ok... that totally sucks... so i have to wait till 2009 to apply... isnt there anyway around it? will they agree if i tell them that ill submit the original at the time of admission?
i havent finished my internship yet and ,my convo is in the 1st week of nov

come on u guys.. we're here to help each other...
any advice for fresh applicants?

It is necessary to submit a notarized copy of your original degree to almost every university in the US. I would try to work with with your univ in India to see if they will release the original degree in advance of the convocation. Many univs have long-established procedures that allow this. The process is tedious, but not impossible.

there's no link for them.. you'll have to write to each university and find out... dates may be available on the website too... but for most schools(not all) with idps... the deadline is in sept first week

u have to finish taking both nbde and toefl before the deadline beacause u have to send in your scores

Buddy,

I am pretty much in same scenario as yours. I would be done with the internship from IN by this Aug 2nd week. I completed TOEFL though. Lets work together and help each other with rest of the stuff to be done. PM me where you are. Thanks
