Hey NYer, you can never scare me 😉 . When I read your posts, I kinda had an inclination that you were married. I knew that this thread is going to become a disaster (in the end you certainly managed to turn it around 👍 .). I was just following.... "when you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything" (This is my own version of a very good quote 😀 ), I certainly didn't want to preach anybody. I am glad everything turned out just fine. WOW! SDN is so unpredictable. It looks like my job approval rating took a deep dive and soaring up. feel like W. Bush. It is so nice of you that you did not say anything bad about me. But, i expected something strong from DrBavibes. He is a passive-active obsever in this thread right from beginning. I was disappointed by not getting any bashing from him. 🙁 BTW, i enjoy negative attention just like positive attention. 😀

ravi- i completely agree with you. You can always know a posters mind by reading through his/her posts very carefully. may be you should read twice or thrice to analyze its content. It is not rocket science. A post reflects some one's mind and definately his/her personality. It is very hard to hide your inner thoughts in multiple posts. I have read many posters nature, personality and could even predict their future responses.

For example take our nimmy and parasite. You really dont need a psychologist or hypnotist to know his nature and personality reading nimmys posts. He is such a nice, honest guy stuck with morality. and parasite a very innocent(?) cute character like Meg Ryan. anyone can judge me with my posts that i am a real dingus. 🙄

I was not a very bright kid in school but always managed to pass with last minute cramming before exams. I always sit in the back row in classroom reserved for tall and bad thugs. That back seat position also helps to look at girls conveniently.

My organic chemistry teacher always made me to go into narcosis without any sedatives. He is kinda untrained anesthesiologist who can put you into sleep with his lectures. NYer went into NREM sleep phase effortlessly within minutes of his lecture. NREM changed into REM sleep pattern with dream phase.

That dream was....

Scene was in some big city in america. At that point in my life i did not have any clue abt american cities. Did not have any clue abt geographical location of countries. I always thought England, America and Australia were same. All white peoples were americans. What would you expect from a small town 11 th grade indian boy?

There was this handsome indian doctor who is working in a very big american hospital wearing fancy tie and suit who is checking pulse on a white patient. Taking care of patients. Examining patients.Helps and cures patients.ordering blood tests. He is flanked by hot and pretty american nurses. Pretty latino blonde secretary takes notes from him. Rounding with brilliant american medical students. Then he gives lectures. Travels in aeroplane all over america to give lectures. invents stuffs. gets awards. becomes famous. Builds his own mansion. buys his private plane. Then, he gives lecture in american congress.
Standing ovation. lots of claps.
Suddenly some chaos.
Everyone is laughing.
Whole 11th grade is laughing.

REM rhythum changes to awake rhythum.
NYer is awake.
Whole class was laughing.That laughter still echoes in my ears like auditory hallucinations.Organic chemistry teacher gets mad x 2. One silly girl comments that i was dreaming abt a sex siren who was very popular those days because of her megaboobs. I think that movie stars name is Jeyamalini.
I was reported to school principal for sleeping in the classroom. I revealed about my daydream to my close friends which brought another huge laughter. They also called me as loser just like sdn folks call me now.

I just went back into my own memory lane...
I always dreamt about that great American University (I think back then, the only University that I knew was Harvard 😀 ) .. and that Great American City.. It was such a great a dream..
In that dream, I just passed the SAT's and came to America.... Wonderful and beautiful with all its charms and glitter and glory.. I was simply amazed

the next thing I knew was that I was on that Graduation stand with black robes and my family cheering me from the crowd.. and they called my name out and said,, let us introduce to the audience Mr. XXX who is now DR. XXX .. .
and thats it.. the crowd rose in joy and happiness (never understood why everyone in their --- was so happy about an unknown guy graduating..but hey .. thats my DREAM).. and I was finally a Doctor..

Now, back to reality, 11 years later.. still trying to decide whether to take the MCAT's this year or next, calling every school for admission statistics, gluing myself to SDN... screaming with happiness when someone gets in, saddening when someone loses, emotions emotions.. wondering if I am prepared well enough or not, wondering if I even made a right choice to begin with ... wondering wondering wondering..
So many questions, so little answers....

but from what I know, it may not be illegal to fall in love with somebody while you are married, it certainly is immoral according to the rules of a civilised society

Not sure yet--- I got accepted at SUNY-Buffalo, Albany COP, interviewed at Mercer and MCPHS-Boston, am scheduled to interview at Wilkes Univ. in PA. then there are couple of schools i haven't heard from....so i guess it might be a while before i am sure where exactly....although right now i'm pretty pleased with myself for making it into SUNY- buffalo....!!
Yep i also applied to UCSF...but i guess i rubbed them the wrong way regarding one of their policies 🙄 ....ummm so i received my rejection letter from them on new years eve....!! really made me the fun-person at the party!!

Well...this is probably stupid...but i'm not one of those people who'll just shut-up and take it ...you know...I applied to UCSF..everything was in order...sent in the letters of recc's ...so then few days after the deadline and $70 for the supplemental and $ around 60 for pharmcas...AP, SAT, and college transcripts....they tell me that they won't consider my file because the recommendations were not on their "recommeded" forms--- and i told them that the school information provided "by the school" on the PharmCAS website states-"Use school forms for recommendation if possible". Now i don't know...but for me that statement does not mandate the use of the forms...I mean ofcourse Pharmacy school applicants don't just apply to 1-2 schools...I applied to 9! So how many forms should i expect my prof.'s to fill out...?!! ( for the record no other school had a problem with personal letters of recc.)
So I cut-paste and emailed their pharmcas statement to them....and they cut,paste and emailed some other policy to me...and then told me they were willing to give me 7 days to get the forms...so i went and requested my prof.'s to fill them out..and it wasn't easy giving them a deadline for that...and i sent it all in in just 4 days...
anyways...even after that I knew i shouldn't hope for anything....i guess it wasn't wise to remind the school of their bloopers...
But I really think that those recommendation forms are stupid--- i mean people aren't that black or white you know...i mean these forms don't measure anything of relevance...and the personal letters are so much more unique...ok i hav obvioulsy written a lot down 😱 ...I'll stop!!

just curious, how do you guys get these animated pictures. I copied the heart image which was beating non-stop and when I pasted it on my file it stopped beating.

Tina, congrats on both schools. I'm not sure but I think Albany is the 3 year one 😕 Also, I know it's a pain getting those letter of recs done esp when the schools want it on their own formatted letters. I had to do that also for the CA schools. And I like your picture 🙂
Nimesh, I'm sure you'll have an awesome time at dental school. Although, pharm schools are like 65% girls, in that case you can always visit the UCSF pharm next door (I'm just playing, I know you're married) 😛

they are subject to copyright violation!!!!
besides that heart belonged to my good friend "Newyorker" and it has stopped beating since last few days after everybody discovered he was married
it needs some CPR!!! before it will start beating again
and besides that you are not a indian and you are here on a visitor's visa , and there are some restrictions for tourists on the india forum

And Mr. Nimesh,I was under the impression that you were already practicing as a Dentist here in Toronto. I would've stopped by to see how you would've decorated your office. I was kinda imagining that there would be animated pics (probably in the form of neon signs) splashed everywhere 😀 .

^ You need to give yourself at least a two week break-in period, where your body gets accustomed to the water and heat. Next time I'm going, I gonna head up north, to Darjeeling, then Nepal and then to Tibet. I need to see the Himalayas at least once in my lifetime.

I am sorry to have disappointed you, I am going to a dental school in usa for two years and promise to come back to my beloved canada who has adopted me , by the way I have my citizenship exams coming very soon eh!!!!(Damm, I have even started talking like a canadian )
but I may not practise in toronto as it is too saturated with dentists, plan to go to some small town where there is a dearth of dentists and I can tell you that the dental visit to my future clinic will not be boring or intimidating as most people feel when they go to a dentist
they will be having a lot of entertainment!!,
Imagine the india forum with only text messages!!!, It would be so boring... , don't you think so???? you need characters like me, to make it interesting
talking of characters, we have one big character called "newyorker"
he is the biggest entertainer when he tells all his "gobor" stories(georgie boy, I hope your invention "gobor" is not patented for you exclusively)
and by the way RX Gal, I have just discovered that there are only 4 boys in my class of 24 for the IDP Dental Program, so going to be lots of fun, I know newyorker is feeling envious of me
