Hi everyone,

I was recently taken off the waitlist at both Indiana and Touro and now need to decide. I currently have a deposit in at Indiana and 2 weeks to make one at Touro. I'll only put in a deposit at Touro if thats where I choose to go.

I really liked both programs when I interviewed. Touro obviously has brand new shiny everything but Indiana will have an entire new clinic by the time I'm a D3.

Touro is cheaper tuition wise compared to OOS for Indiana but factoring in cost of living it might be a wash with touro being a little bit cheaper if anything. My main concern with touro is that no class has taken boards, gone through clinic, or graduated and gone on to either residency or gotten a job.

Any advice?

congrats on both acceptances! If I were in your situation and both schools have somewhat similar tuition, I would go to the more established program. Touro will probably go onto become a great program but Indiana's been around for longer, probably has better faculty members, and a better overall program. This is just my opinion though. Regardless, this is a good situation to be in.

I actually have a friend who was in a similar scenario from NY he chose Indiana ...turns out he loves it there. He loves the fact that the faculty give him the individualized attention and that they have a solid reputation. He also mentioned that the price difference is not that big of a difference.

I agree that Touro will be great eventually but they don't yet have any clinical reputation, at all. Indiana is the option I would choose.
Congratulations on your acceptances.

I'm sure Touro will be an amazing school, in my case I don't want to move with my family to the east coast and not sure if I want to handle all the kinks of a new program so that's why I'm going to choose my other option.
