Hey, does anyone know of a good website or good book that helps during an ID rotation (please, don't mention the sanford guide). I know jack about ID, could care less about ID, but want and need to at least know the basics as an internal medicine resident. Its my weakest area...so please help!

I was going to suggest Infectious Diseases in 30 Days by Fredrick Southwick, but why bother with a book if you could care less about ID? 😕 Perhaps you would be better served by referencing the ID section in pocket medicine. uptodate/emedicine is great for ID as well as general medicine info.

Try Up To Date if you or your school has access. The PDA programs I've used for ID have been a bit cumbersome.

I like the Hopkins Antibiotcs guide for PDA. It helps out with bugs and drugs that are both commonly seen on the wards, and that are uncommon enough to impress an attending here and there.

I agree with PeterY. If you could care less, then don't bother with a book.
