What special precautions do ID physicians routinely follow to avoid catching any diseases from their patients? I realize that almost any medical speciality has this risk, but it seems like infectious disease would be one of the highest risk specialities in terms of contracting an illness.

walk around with full contact precautions gear all the time. 🙂
