So here's the deal. I want to go into general surgery and I want to train at the best possible program I can. I also feel obligated as a DO to the osteopathic profession to at least atempt to try to find an osteopathic surgical residency. The only thing is the information just isn't out there on which programs are going to give me the training I need. I would love to train at a top notch facility but the only programs I know anything about are the big MD programs like Pitt, MGH, Michigan, Wash, etc... Can anyone out there give me insight into some of the osteo GS programs?

There's a thread on the surgery forums about PCOM's gen surg programs. I've heard that it's quite good even though it requires a lot of travel time. There may be other threads about DO surgery residencies. Asking this question in the gen surg forum will bring you better answers - a few DO surgeons post there from time to time.

Good luck!

seriously though, if anyone knows what the word on the street is about the DO programs hook it up
