Info to Collect for AMCAS

So I go to school in a different city from where I live in the summer and I just wanted to make sure I have everything next year before I leave for the summer. I would imagine I would need to ask profs to write reference letters but would I be too early to send them to AMCAS? I wouldn't have an account so I imagine so. Would I need to get transcript info as well or will AMCAS just send the request to the school? If you can think of anything else I should start gathering please let me know!
