Saw a posting for an open PGY2 spot. I had completed 3 years in a program before leaving. Past 2 years worked as a Path assitant but continued to review slides and read on my own time. Averaged about 10 cases per day over this time and found that I learned a lot and now my amateur diagnosis match the attendings 95% of the time. Of course I am reviewing already (signed out) determined cases.
I emailed the PD asking for a chance to speak to him by phone to explain my situation. Anyone know of this progam and would they be willing to take on a FMG. I passed steps 1, 2, 3, CSA and also have a PHD and 2 years cancer research at Harvard. I emailed the PD my rotations and a generic letter I got from my old PD stating my rotations and credits.
Any thoughts or ideas as to what else I could do? I would just like to complete my training and then move into research.
thanks for any input.
