I am new an SDN and am sorry if I am asking a question that has been answered 1000 times. I didn't expect this application process to be stressful because I was comforted by my adviser, who said I'll get 15+ interviews and I have nothing to worry about. Howver, it has not been the case, so far I got 2 interviews and 2 rejections out of 30 programs I applied to (many of them in Cali). I have average board schores, good grades and recommendations. Is that a sign that something is wrong with my application, should I apply to more programs before its too late?

Thanks for your input!!!

Hey, i'm just a 4th year applying like you, but I can imagine how stressed you are so I thought i'd at least jump in and say something reassuring 🙂.

Are most of the programs you've applied to on the "Interviews" thread with many people already invited? If not, then I wouldn't worry as much... also, most of the California programs are *just* starting to send out invitations this week, so you may still hear from them. Same is true for a lot of the more competitive NY programs. If you're really concerned, then make an appointment to meet with your advisor ASAP - they may be able to call a few programs on your behalf. Also, you can email programs yourself and ask them for interviews, that seems to work sometimes (and so far i'm 1 for 2, still waiting to hear back from the second one).

Good luck, hang in there!
