Inspirations to Continue??

Just curious..what keeps you guys going? I know that there have been many times when I have wanted to just give up or thought that maybe i'm not meant to be a doctor but I always see or read about something that motivates and inspires me all over again. What are your inspirations??

i honestly don't know what keeps me going, i have to just force myself to acknowledge that every single one of these hardships (studying late for a test or doing cursed chem labs) brings me closer to becoming a doctor.

Honestly, just knowing I'd end up a doctor someday was enough motivation for me.

Wow, that is something. Ped. is not exactly my style, I can stand surgery, blood... but and kid in pain is not something I could easily deal with, especially if there is nothing I could do. It is a sort of duality in this, I want to help them, but I know I can't do my job, because I feel too much for them. It is not any easier with adult, but I could deal with it partly because I know they at the least live part of their life. I really admired those Ped.

being at the trauma center, watching some really really great stuff happen (maybe not so great for the patient) and thinking.... "just hang in there, and YOU"LL be doing that too!!!"

no i'm sorry i wish i had more..i know what you mean. sometimes i just think maybe i'm not cut out to be a doctor. i had a horrible horrible first semester in college (im now a 1st semester sophomore) and that bad semester makes me feel like i won't get accepted because it was so bad 🙁 ..i did pick myself up but my gpa is still low...i'll probably end up taking MCATS later rather than junior year as most do. reading this story just keeps reminding me the reward of working my butt off will pay off in the end
