Interesting message Board... to me atleast.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I am suprised that you haven't mentioned that: just because you have a MD behind your name, it doesn't mean you went to a U.S. medical school. IMGs (which I think you can can get an excellent education and become an excellent physician), is increasing in the United States.

It seems like this courttv.com forum has died down. Darn. That was a full day/night of excitement for me. Oh well.

^.^ Back to lurking in the Pre-Osteo forums...

LOL.. nice touch to the end of a brilliant destruction of a forum troll. ^.^ Grats all around!

nlax.. this guy is starting to really piss me off.

I'm simply trying to articulate a point so that other clowns like him can one day see the obvious lapses in their mental capacities...

Sorry for the big words. I'm just in fighting mode, at the moment. I will calm down if this score holds up on MNF.

Not worth your time..that hotlanta guy is a douche and will always be one. Unfortunately, the longer you guys stay on that thread the worse you guys will look for arguing with him. Let it go. The OP there learned something new and will hopefully pass on that info to some of her friends.

Alright.. will do. Retracting docking bays now. ^.^ Just kidding. That'd be too nerdy.

talk about feeding trolls

I guess someone (the moderator) didn't like all of the learning we were giving to everyone. Our post was deleted. Oh well. At least we got to someone!

^.^

BC I think we were banned. Tis a shame. I guess this guy has more clout over there than us. I was unable to post for some reason. The funny thing is I have not said anything as inflammatory as that guy did.

i can't wait for the day that these topics on forums no longer appear. DOs are increasing in prevalence, visibility, and prominence in hospitals and academic institutions every day. these threads should challenge all of us who successfully matriculate at osteopathic medical schools to go the extra mile in our studies and eventual practice to provide the best practice possible for all patients. that's the only way to beat 'em 🙂

Absolutely, we should take advantage of the negative stigma and motivate ourselves to be the best of the best. That is the only way we can truly create and uphold a standing that DO= highly competent physicians 👍.

If there is a decent realization I had in my short lifetime, it is that ethos is given importance over logos for 90% of the population, 99% of the time.

The most stupid opinion in the world will becomes a valid point if it has a name like JD, MD, PhD or president of united states behind it.

I think it was more than banned. I think our thread was also deleted. I am going to pm the mod and find out what is up.

I think DOs will always have a stigma.

Its too bad, but a reality.

We have much less of a stigma now than we did 50 years ago. It's reasonable to think that with more time, stigma will decrease even further.

Besides, this profession has survived entire organizations calling us as quacks, hospitals banning us and our own government excluding us. One guy in Atlanta is nothing.

It's back.

I contacted the admin of the board yesterday and he informed me that he was "cleaning out the trash" and then reopening it. I would love to take ol' JacobJ (resisted the temptation to be childish with his name) to the woodshed, but it is over. I am just going to respond with something like "everyone can feel the way they do. Obviously the people who are level headed and not degrading, giving actual facts and first-hand accounts are people giving you the truth. Should you choose to listen to JacobJ and Hotlantadude, et. al., then by all means do so. We are just here to offer you all the truth, but as Zach Morris said, research this for yourself." Something like that. Class beckons.

Adios!

Eh, it's not worth it. There's always going to be people like JacobJ who think that way.

[sarcasm]And I guess I've sacrificed my career because even with my high MCAT I turned down another state MD school for this one. [/sacarsm]

Important thing is the person who actually had the need to see a doctor was informed and came away with a positive impression.

/agree nlax

OP learned. Trolls fed. BCLumas happy. What more could one want in a day?

Well, maybe a bit of chocolate, or some beer, but that's all. ^.^

I believe that Hotlanta dude has his IP banned from the Court TV forums. All of his personal threads were deleted and any posts he made in the Osteopathic medicine thread were deleted as well. Everyone, please feel free to begin posting about Osteopathic medicine (if you want) without fear of flames.

And once again.. thank you to nlax and the mysterious Zach Morris for all of your added research. Heck, Zach, I think that you even taught me some things ^.^

^.^ Great article! It has been passed along. Thank you very much for your help!

Funny thing is, Zach Morris is TT (TexasTriathlete). I figured it out through his MD Apps profile 😀 WTG guys! 👍

Hahaha! Texas.. why didn't you say anything? ^.^

Oh, I hadn't been reading this thread. I just assumed you guys knew.

LOL. I had no idea. I kept thinking to myself "Who the heck is this guy?" I guess it makes sense now with all of those GA-PCOM references. Haha! I am sooo slow.

Sorry 'bout that!

Well, GA-PCOM is one of the schools I know about, but I think that they are a good example to use in this case anyway, because that douche is from Atlanta. So even if I wasn't a GA-PCOM guy, I would have done my research.

Holy crap his arguments got weak. If he didn't get banned, I'm pretty sure "I'm rubber, you're glue..." was coming soon.

Hahaha. No doubt. It was really funny how we kept just showing him up over and over again. My best was when he asked if we were roommates. Not that it'd be a problem, but it definitely isn't the case. Oh well. Texas and Lumas--riding the world of trolls, one thread at a time.

I was Lenamark over on that thread. Didn't contribute as much as you guys, but I was there for support. You guys did awesome. Death of an idiot.

:laugh:Sorry for the repost but I cant have my postcount at 666.

Good job guys...nothing ends an argument more than the "check out his link" portion of the argument, especially from those big name schools. You should have also added that Dr. Will Kirby guy, I am sure more people know him than any of those random doctors, and the shock value would be much greater, as even DO's are surprised when I tell them.

Some how I had picked up on that thread just a couple days before it was mentioned here through my Copernic software. You guys wrote some excellent posts. And that attorney from Atlanta was impervious to all reason and fact.

After the Paris Hilton/Doctor Sophy incident however there were posts about D.O.'s in several entertainment forums that made me wonder whether the popularity of prefrontal lobotomies in the 40s and 50s was in fact splendidly justified, and should perhaps soon enjoy a resurgence of use as a clinical tool in psychiatry.

^.^ Well thank you! It was a lot of fun just showing everyone who kept visiting the page that we really did know what we were talking about.
