Interfolio

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It took them one day to send out the letters from when I made the delivery request..and I'm guessing add another however long USPS takes to deliver the actual mail.

My stuff from interfolio seems to get there 3-4 days after I click on submit button. Interfolio ROCKS!

Just an interfolio tip: be sure each letter has letterhead and the fax2sig signature. I had several recommenders not include these and had to send hard copies of each letter to some some schools that would not accept letters without them.

What is that?

but if we dont see our letters how do we know if those are on them? is this something interfolio or the rec writers include?

Gotta have faith in the system I guess.😕

It is an option for letter writers who submit their recommendations electronically to interfolio. They sign an official interfolio document and fax it to them and the signature is then copied to each of their letters that is sent. Again, Fax2sig is only for recommenders who are submitting their letters via e-mail to interfolio, thus without a signature, which needs to be included in your letters.

I can tell you from personal experience I had trouble with five of the seven schools I applied to because there were no signatures on two of my letters; these recommenders sent their letters via e-mail without a signature and letterhead, just text.

So, to wrap up - If using Interfolio/ReferenceNow (same thing), it is much easier to have your recommender fax their letter or snail mail it on official letterhead and with a signature.

You are correct, obviously I didn not see my letters either. At my interview they told me one of my letters ahd beens ent w/o letter head OR a signature!!!! So, I had to send another letter. Bastard, I even told him, letterhead and sign it! Oh well!

.

Oh ok I see, thank you for the info.

geez, i would think recommenders would know better than to send a letter unsigned, or not on letterhead. but a good post to make sure everyone reminds their writers. just make sure they mail them in, then you dont have to worry about the signature thing!

Perhaps the LOR writers did know better. Think about it, it is much easier to just simply not sign a letter than to tell someone to their face that they will not write a LOR for them.
