does interfolio make deliveries all together in a packet
?
like if i pick 4 lor writers and send them together they arrive to the school in a packet correct?

Yes! I haven't actually used my account yet but I've been told that's how it works.

You just tell Interfolio to make a new delivery and they will send it off. Mkae sure to search for the school first on Interfolio's website. Some schools accept an electronic copy, others want snail mail.

yeah, UCs don't accept interfolio either

Be careful with Cornell, though. The undergrad school accepts Interfolio, the medical school does NOT.

Yeah they do, I've already asked them. Why do people post on here like they know what they're talking about. You can have it mailed to them by interfolio no problem.

I'm sorry I was misunderstood. The post above me says that you have to search for schools as to whether they accept them electronically. Cornell medical school does not accept them electronically. I know, I've checked. I'm having a problem with interfolio and my LORs to Cornell right now, thanks.

VCU and Yale don't accept electronic delivery. I just sent mine snail mail. 🙁

on a side note, it's funny to me that I mentioned Yale and VCU in the same sentence. 🙂

my LOR were sent to interfolio in the mail last friday. does anybody have an idea how long it takes for them to upload those into ur account. im anxious to send those out and complete some of these applications.

I think they're pretty quick about it. A week after mine were snail mail, I saw the status change.

I'm not sure how much time was sent processing and how much was spent in the mail.

Yes, they do. I had no problem with Interfolio at any of the UC's except for UCSF (which required me to send them from my letter service; only me, not others in my program).

I had no problems with the other 36 schools (including all the UCs) accept Interfolio. Some will take electronic, some won't but all will accept Interfolio as a whole. Seriously. Don't sweat it.

Hey all,

Just wanted to briefly respond to some of the issues raised here. I'm also going to include a list of the schools that currently receive electronically from Interfolio.

1) Multiple letters are sent in one professional packet. Whether electronic or paper, they include a cover sheet that includes the following: Student name, AAMC (or other) ID if requested, a brief explanation of Interfolio, and also a list of the documents included in the delivery, along with some other information. This list of documents will also note if a letter is confidential or non-confidential. If sent through paper mail, the delivery is distributed in a large 9 X 12 envelope, so that your documents are never folded or creased.

2) We deliver to any medical school through paper mail. If you run into any problems with any school, please contact our help desk at (877) 77-FOLIO or [email protected] so that we can speak to representatives at that school.

3) If your professors are sending letters of recommendation to our office via regular first class mail, the letter will generally be uploaded within about a week of your writer sending the letter. Keep in mind the time needed for the letter to travel to our offices (located in Washington, DC), and for us to process the mail, scan the letters and upload them into your account. We guarantee your letter will be uploaded in 1-3 business days upon receipt. However, once received, a letter is typically scanned and uploaded within the same day.

4) VCU is set up to receive electronically. Some of our schools took a while to update their account for the current cycle, but they are now good to go.

Below my name is a list of the current medical schools that electronically receive documents from Interfolio users. The University of Louisville and Jefferson Medical College are the two most recent receivers...

Hope this helps you guys out and good luck!

Jack Gaynor

How long does it take by paper mail (regular, first class), roughly, for the schools to receive them? Do you know?

2) If you run into any problems with any school, please contact our help desk at (877) 77-FOLIO or [email protected] so that we can speak to representatives at that school.

And how often is that e-mail address checked? I've sent two e-mails over the past three days, and neither has been responded to yet.

What, Baylor's not on there? But when I searched through Interfolio, BCM popped up! Maybe that's why they haven't gotten my letters! 😵

I actually somehow left Baylor off the list - my apologies!

Once you make a request, we process that delivery within one business day. Meaning that, if you make a request for a USPS delivery at 6 pm tonight, it will be out of our office the next day. Then, it's in the hands of the Postal Service. They need to process and deliver it, and then it often times has to be processed by campus mail services as well. So I can't really give you a specific time, but anywhere within a few days and a couple weeks.
