How long does it take on average for certiphi to finish a background check on someone in a different country? Its been 3 weeks now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone been in this situation? if yes, please share your experiences.

Less than 2 weeks for me.

Mine took about a week. Have you considered sending an email to the Certiphi people? They were very responsive when I contacted them.

About 2.5 weeks. I think it depends on the country as well.

I submitted my background check on Jan 21 and I haven't heard anything yet. Anyone submitting from Asia?

It may take longer than 3 weeks. You can call your university and ask if they even need the international search. Sometimes they only care about the time you spent in the US. If they don't need it, they might be able to contact Certiphi and speed up the process.

Edit: are you physically not in the US now?
