I had a few questions about military medicine...

How involved is the military in providing medical humanitarian aid internationally (i.e. refugees, developing countries, etc)? If so, how likely is it if your a military doc to go over and help out for extended periods?

My husband was involved as a resident with a humanitarian mission to Nicaraugua. The trip was not very long (less than a month) and was a very positive experience. Now he is active duty at a small base......there have been a few humanitarian missions scheduled that have not happened, but supposedly there is one that will go to S. America later this year.
