International Psych Residency Electives

Anyone done a 4th year elective in residency internationally? I'd kind of like to do this (looking way ahead, I am only an intern). How even to look/arrange? I'm interested in an English speaking country like England or Ireland or any other english speaking country (Caribbean?) for that matter. There is no precedent in my program (big midwest university academic) so I don't even know how to set this up. I think the biggest barrier is getting paid. Just wondering if anyone has experience. I have dreams of Maudsley in London but I don't even know that is available. Plus my other thing is I want to take my family (spouse and two kids who will be 6 and 4 by then) so that is an issue too. I can't squat in a hostel for a month.
