I was talking to a classmate last night about the match (we're MS2), and she was saying that since she's not a US citizen, she's going to have a much harder time matching than I will, even if we have the exact same stats. I was shocked by this, and started looking at the NRMP match data to see if there was anything that supported this assertion. I know graduates of foreign medical schools match at lower rates than US seniors, but I thought that as long as you graduate from a US allopathic school, you're considered in the same boat as all other US allo grads. Can anyone elucidate this for me? #askingforafriend
