i understand that the RRC has new requirements for the intern year which are beginning in 2008. apparently one of the new requirements is one month of emergency medicine.
i was wondering whether or not these new requirements would apply to someone who is currently an intern. for example, my current internship program doesn't require a month of emergency and i would prefer not to do a month if i can avoid it. however, i would rather do a month of emergency medicine at my current internship program (small community hospital) than at my residency program (big academic program).
i guess my question is if the 2008 RRC requirements apply to ALL residents that are still in training after 2008 or if it only applies to residents who started their training after 2008.
