Hi,
Are these essay topic questions that were asked at an MCPHS boston interview? I am interviewing there on Feb 12th 2007. Any advice for the interview in general? Kind of nervous! Thanks so much!

Those were the topics at MCPHS-Worcester and I think it's safe to assume that's what you'll get in Boston. Basically, they want to make sure you're literate. They give you half an hour but you probably won't need that to write one page, front side only, and I never discussed the essay once with my interviewer. By the way, I felt completely comfortable during the interview. The professor that interviewed me was awesome and hopefully you'll experience the same at Boston. Don't be nervous and good luck.

I was asked to write on "Should pharmacists charge a fee to answer questions?" at Shenandoah. They also gave another choice of "Should health insurance premiums be higher for smokers?"

1. You are the FDA director of your state, dicuss steps to reclassify a prescription drug to an over-the-counter drug.

2. What would you do with million-dollar grant given you by (for instance) World health organization. Must be health care related.

These are questions from last year. Any ideas on the first question Please, anyone??????

At Mercer, there were 2 options:

1. Everything you need to know you can learn about in books. (You had to argue for or against that statement and use examples from your own life)

2. This one was about cultural ignorance, about how to deal with diversity in the pharmacy world. (It was definitely harder, but I chose to write about this one, because I'm a Resident Advisor at Va Tech and have lots of experience with it)

At Shenandoah, there were also 2 options:

1. Should people who smoke receive the same health care insurance and benefits as those who do not smoke?

2. Should pharmacists charge patients for asking questions about their prescriptions/health care? (I chose this one)

Oregon State ED ?

Should pharmacists be allowed to prescribe medications? Why/Why not?

Western ?

Creative people say that....Blah, blah , blah.... pick a time in your life where you took a risk and give the positive/negative effects? (not verbatim obviously, but you get the gist.)
